About Jackson Makerspace

A Home for Makers Since 2014

Jackson Makerspace started with a simple idea: to create a shared space where people can learn, build, and collaborate. Founded in 2013 and officially becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2014, we searched for the perfect location before settling into the Tomlinson School building. Today, we proudly occupy six large workshop areas, each designed to empower makers of all skill levels including:

✅ A fully equipped Wood Shop
✅ A high-powered Metal Shop
✅ A flexible Production Area
✅ A diverse Electronics Room
✅ An inspiring Art & Textile Studio
✅ A spacious Classroom Space

More Than Just a Workspace

Jackson Makerspace isn’t just about tools and workshops—it’s about community. We share our space with mission-driven organizations and offer classrooms, event space, and creative resources to help Jackson’s makers, artists, and entrepreneurs thrive.

Beyond our own workspaces, we share our building with local nonprofits like Imagine Planet, Our Neighbor’s Keeper, and Isaiah’s Hub fostering a true community of innovation and support. We also provide classrooms, kitchen, gymnasium, and stage to serve even more creative needs.
